INTRODUCTION
Globalization and immigration have transformed today's business world.
Many organizations are looking for solutions to improve communication between the
established corporate culture and the new multi-cultural workforce.
The International Institute of New Jersey (IINJ) helps organizations and businesses
deal with the ever-changing work environment by developing programs that:
+ Improve communication among
employees
+ Implement productive multi-cultural
teams
+ Reduce the incidence of cultural
conflicts
All training sessions are:
+ Developed collaboratively to meet the specific needs of the
organization.
+ Designed to be interactive through
the use of discussions, exercises and simulations
CULTURAL COMPETENCY TRAINING
As the diversity of the workplace increases, so does the need for
better communication skills within a cultural context. These seminars will raise cultural
awareness and help companies bridge the culture gap.
Culturally Competent Mental Health Training
The mission of the Culturally Competent Mental Health Training Center
is to work together with publicly funded mental health agencies in Northern NJ to
assure culturally and linguistically appropriate access to services for
the many diverse communities and individuals who may need them.
All of our workshops and conferences are designed with this goal in
mind. Our presenters are highly qualified and experienced individuals
in the fields of both mental health and culture. Conferences cover
issues concerning: the concept of cultural competence, immigration and
patterns of acculturation, culture specific needs for a selected group,
health disparities by culture, refugee issues, impact of war and
torture, culture and gender roles, etc..
In addition, workshops have been designed for the specific needs of
agencies. Agencies can request trainings relating to: organizational
components for cultural competence, CLAS standards, availability and
accessibility of mental health services in relation to diverse
ethnic/cultural groups, linguistic competency, as well as “Train the
Trainer” workshops which help educators within an agency gain the
skills to adequately train employees in cultural competency.

CULTURE SPECIFIC SEMINARS
Customized seminars are designed for employees and managers that are
preparing for overseas assignments, managing multi-cultural teams, or interacting with
international counterparts. During these training sessions, participants will learn
from country specialists the cultural values, communication patterns, and business
etiquette of that region.
CROSS-CULTURAL CONFLICT RESOLUTION
Many conflicts are a result of misconceptions that are rooted in
preconceived expectations. In this seminar we explore the concepts of dispute resolution,
and provide vital strategies to address and prevent cultural conflicts.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY

workshops I have ever attended. Well done."

manner"
