The main office of the International Institute of New Jersey is located on the fourth floor of 1 Journal Square Plaza in Jersey City, NJ, near Journal Square. Our telephone number is (201) 653-3888.
By PATH:
From Newark, Penn Station: Take the PATH train two stops to Journal Square. The Institute is 1 block north of Journal Square on the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and Cottage Street. After exiting the PATH station, look for the statue of Jackie Robinson and walk in that direction. When you get to the Stanley Theater, cross Kennedy Blvd. The Institute is in a four-story red brick building next to the ADP Building.
From Manhattan: PATH stations are located at 33rd Street (Herald Square), 23rd Street, 14th Street, 9th Street, and Christopher Street. Take the Journal Square PATH train (not the Hoboken train) to the Journal Square Station. If you are leaving from the World Trade Center, take the Newark (NWK) train to Journal Square. The Institute is 1 block north of Journal Square on the corner of Kennedy Boulevard and Cottage Street. After exiting the PATH station, look for the statue of Jackie Robinson and walk in that direction. When you get to the Stanley Theater, cross Kennedy Blvd. The Institute is in a four-story red brick building next to the ADP Building.
By Car:
From Manhattan: Take the Holland Tunnel. After exiting the tunnel in New Jersey, go about one mile to the Kennedy Boulevard exit. Travel about 11 blocks on “State Highway” until it ends on Kennedy Blvd. Make a left turn (There is a BP gas station on the corner). Go about five blocks to the Institute on the corner of Kennedy and Cottage Street.
From Staten Island: Take Route 440 to the Bayonne Bridge. Cross the bridge and take Kennedy Boulevard. Follow Kennedy Boulevard several miles to Journal Square. When you reach Journal Square, Kennedy Blvd will make a 90 degree turn to the left. The Institute will be two blocks after the turn on the left. Look for the 4-story brick building after the 9-story silver ADP Building.
From Southern New Jersey: Take the New Jersey Turnpike. Get off at Exit 14-C (Grand Street). Go two blocks to the traffic light (Montgomery Street), turn left and go 10 blocks to Bergen Avenue. Turn right on to Bergen Avenue. Go down about six blocks. When you reach Journal Square, Bergen Avenue will end and become Kennedy Blvd. The Institute is located three blocks up on the left. Look for the 4-story brick building after the 9-story silver ADP Building.
From Northern New Jersey: Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 15-E (1-9 North exit). Take Route 1-9 North approximately one mile into Jersey City. As you enter Jersey City, go straight and continue on Communipaw Avenue (You will leave Route 1-9 which turns to the left). Go approximately 6 blocks to Kennedy Blvd. Turn left on to Kennedy Blvd. Travel about 15 blocks on Kennedy Blvd until you reach Journal Square. When you reach the Square, Kennedy Blvd will make a 90 degree turn to the left. The Institute will be two blocks after the turn on the left. Look for the 4-story brick building after the 9-story silver ADP Building.
From Western New Jersey:
One has a number of choices:
Take Route 22 East to Truck Rt 1-9 (Stay off the express lanes that lead to the Pulaski Skyway). Route 1-9 becomes Communipaw Avenue once it enters Jersey City. Go about 4 blocks past the park and turn left on to Kennedy Blvd. (Kennedy is one block after West Side Avenue). Travel about 15 blocks on Kennedy Blvd until you reach Journal Square. When you reach the Square, Kennedy Blvd will make a 90 degree turn to the left. The Institute will be two blocks after the turn on the left. Look for the 4-story brick building after the 9-story silver ADP Building.
Take 78 East to Exit 14 of the New Jersey Turnpike. Get off at Exit 14-C (Grand Street). Go two blocks to the traffic light (Montgomery Street), turn left and go 10 blocks to Bergen Avenue. Parking
1. The Institute has four spaces designated for visitors in the outdoor parking lot behind 1 Journal Square Plaza. Use the second driveway.
2. If space is not available in the outdoor parking lot, paid parking may be found in the Rand Parking Lot between 1 Journal Square Plaza and 2 Journal Square Plaza (the ADP building). The rate is $3 per hour, and $7 for the day.
3. Limited metered and non-metered street parking is available on Cottage Street. Non-metered spaces may not be used for more than two hours.
